There are plenty of different ways to build conversion, trust us, we know, we’ve been working in the advertising industry for over 25 years. But, there are some that work a lot better than others and they don’t burn a hole in your wallet. The great thing is, these suggestions don’t have to be a one-time thing they can be run whenever you want, for as long as you want.
Start a conversation with online articles
One of the best forms of conversation building is online articles. 55% of marketers say blog content creation is their top inbound marketing priority, according to HubSpot. Blog articles are so effective because you are having that initial conversation with a customer and trying to sell to them without them even knowing. They might think they are just reading an article with helpful information inside when the truth is you are making them realise that the answer they need is your product/company.
An example for someone who manufactures hair products would be an article titled ‘top 10 tips for fuller looking hair’. Readers will be instantly enticed by the title since it’s something that they want to know. When they search Google for ‘how to get fuller looking hair’ this article will be one of the first results to show up. The contents of the article are where you get that opportunity to say, ‘ our hair products are the most well known for giving you fuller looking hair because…’ and that’s your conversation started. At the bottom of this article, include a contact form or call to action so that they know what to do next. This could be something along the lines of giving you a call or sending you a message in order to buy your product or service. This then results in a new lead! How easy does that sound?
Build awareness as well as leads with social media
Every man and his dog (quite literally) are on social media nowadays. It’s one of the best platforms for promoting brand awareness and is one of the most popular communication stations of our century. Facebook continues to be the most widely used social network, with 39.2 million active UK users on the platform, according to Statista. We have been talking to a lot of our clients about advertising through Facebook to start a conversation with potential customers, and almost every one of them has given in to the social media hierarchy.
With almost half of the UK population using Facebook, it doesn’t take long to build a conversation with someone. As a company, you could start a conversation by creating buzz about a new product that you’re about to launch. You could run a campaign which features a countdown, some insights about the product and even a raffle which can only be entered through Facebook. This raffle could give Facebook users the chance to win one of the products by sharing your page, commenting on the post and liking the page. All of a sudden, you have thousands of people sharing your post around the platform. This then starts a conversation between the customers and then back to you once the campaign has reeled them in. That’s brand awareness and a possible lead all in one.
Start an instant conversation with customers using an online chat box
Back in December 2017, we talked about how online chat boxes could be one of the biggest trends for 2018 and we certainly haven’t been proven wrong. According to ICMI, more than half of all customers prefer to chat with someone online and in real-time, rather than over the phone. You can also connect this back to social media and the Facebook Messenger app and how easy that is for the customer to get an instant response.
When a customer is scrolling through your web page and needs some more insight about a product/service, they will usually go to the contact page and find your phone number. But, more and more people are relying on instant messaging to get their answer there and then. Nobody wants to be passed around from line to line in call centres anymore. If a customer sees a chat box on your website, they are more than likely to use it. It can also be a great help to users who might have trouble navigating your site. They can send you a quick message just to say ‘could you help me find where I need to go?’, and you can give them an answer there and then.
